Ten Hill Place Hotel is owned by The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, one of the oldest medical incorporations in the world, with a history stretching back over 500 years. The College provides education and assessment for medical students, surgical trainees and consultants and supports research to advance standards of care for the future. Surgeons trained and assessed through the College here in Edinburgh bring life-saving and life-changing skills to all corners of the globe.

Profits from the hotel and from events and functions held on the College’s premises are invested back into supporting the activities of the College and its Fellows and Members around the world.

The photographs displayed around No. Ten Café Bar show the working College and the beautiful architecture designed by William Playfair.  The sun logo you will see throughout the Hotel represents the four parts of the campus – the original Playfair Building, the Quincentenary Building, the King Khalid Building, and,  of course,  Ten Hill Place Hotel.  The photographs on display are available for purchase.  Please ask at Hotel Reception for further details.

Our proximity to the Festival Theatre and nearby arts venues makes it an ideal choice for supper before hitting the town!

No. Ten Café Bar offers a selection of ales, wines and spirits and is the ideal spot to catch up with colleagues and friends. With a licence until 3.00 am for residents there is always time for a nightcap before retiring to bed.

At No. Ten Café Bar we like to keep things simple, using locally sourced ingredients - where possible - and using the seasons to dictate our menu offering.  Please do cast your eye over our Hearty Mains section, which changes on a regular basis and offers some of the best of Scotland’s produce.

Full Menu: Midday - 9.30pm

Room Service: 6.30am - 9.30pm

Bar Drinks Service: Midday - 11.00pm (and until 3.00 am for residents)
